My name is Sharon Lincoln, and I am honored to serve as your Director. I hold a Dual Master’s degree in Special Education from Capella University and have a decade of experience in the field. I began my career as a preschool teacher in an ABA program for children with Autism, where I worked closely with children exhibiting intensive behaviors. I then served as a Lead Teacher at Head Start before being promoted to Site Supervisor. My journey also led me to the role of Assistant Director at Skipwith Academy at Westchester.
I was born in Massachusetts but lived in Maine for ten years before moving to Virginia. I love spending time with my family, outside activities, swimming, and staying active.
I have been married to my husband, who is in the military, for eight years; we have two English Springer. I have Five siblings who live in 5 different states.
My journey in Education began at the YMCA, where I discovered my passion for the field. I am deeply committed to my work, and my favorite part of the day is engaging with families, understanding the unique needs of each child, and witnessing their growth and learning. I am dedicated to what I do and invest time in getting to know each child and family.
Skipwith Academy is committed to supporting families and children in the communities we serve. We provide a variety of options for learning, not only based on the age of the child, but also his or her prior learning, maturity, and developmental stage. Our curriculum is based on a learning plan for meeting the emotional, physical, social, and cognitive needs of children using developmentally appropriate practices in a supportive environment.
