At Skipwith Academy, we provide infants with love and support as they reach those first milestones. Infants experience tremendous growth and development during the first two years. Smiles, coos, and babbles are the beginnings of language development and are shared often between an infant and his or her primary caregiver as they sing, read, play, and share quiet moments throughout the day.

Your infant’s specifically trained teachers design individual lesson plans specifically for your child that support emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. This promotes brain development and allows your baby to learn about his or her world.

We truly believe your child will learn best in a loving environment. We implement this philosophy into everything we do, from the materials in the classroom to loving interactions. In our Baby Steps program, your infant will take his or her first steps down the path to a lifetime of learning.
No one knows your baby as well as you. Skipwith is committed to fostering a relationship with you that is built on trust and open communication. As a parent in the Baby Steps infant daycare program you will be provided ongoing communication about your child’s day.
You will have peace of mind knowing that your infant will have a caregiver who will build a loving relationship with him or her. We provide a maximum ratio of four infants to one teacher to ensure there are many opportunities for one-on-one time with each infant.
In our Baby Steps infant daycare program, your baby will be introduced to the basics of American Sign Language, and elements of Baby Yoga. Periodic assessments will give you the opportunity to evaluate your baby’s growth and progression, and to share in the joy as he or she reaches the next stage of development.
