Skipwith Before/After Care

The Youth Zone is our before and after school program that enables working parents to know that their child is safe and supported in the hours leading up to, and following their school day. Children have an opportunity to spend mornings and afternoons with friends in an environment that is fun, friendly, and relaxing.

Convenient Hours

When schools are closed for teacher work days, snow days, or for holidays, Youth Zone expands to accommodate the school-age child who is looking to spend the day with friends doing things they enjoy. As a parent of an active school-ager you can be confident that your child is going to be safe and well supervised and also challenged, cared for, and connected to the staff and their friends.

Complimentary Meals and Snacks

Children are served breakfast before they head off to school.  They receive a snack upon return from school and then have a chance to head off to the playground to let off steam after a long day of learning.

Complimentary Transportation TO and FROM School

Bus service is included to and from local schools in professionally outfitted buses that maximize safety.  Our buses are driven by mature drivers who have clean driving records.  We work with schools to provide a seamless transition from school to our program so that parents do not have to worry about their children while at work.

Enriching Educational Experiences

Each day school-age children are presented with several activity choices that build on the knowledge and skills that they learn in school. Each afternoon, students have an opportunity to complete homework assignments in quiet areas of theYouth Zone. Our education team understands that opportunities for socialization, fun, and creative expression are crucial components of a quality youth development program and our staff create customized lesson plans each week to provide these critical experiences.

Opportunities for Socializing, Sports, and Special Interest Clubs

While at Youth Zone, children participate in various clubs based on their interests.  They might enjoy jewelry making or step dancing with friends, or they may head over to the art studio to work on their painting skills.  Chess clubs are common as are simulation sports games on the Wii. There are opportunities to participate in sports like soccer and basketball.  Children also have the time to work on special projects together like robotics, movie making, pottery making, and games.
